Reggae Link Radio Executive Producer Joe Neish is the force behind Reggae Link Radio. Already a successful business owner and entrepreneur (Uncle Joe’s Jerk Chicken and Fireworks Sound), Joe saw a need for Caribbean programming in the Chicago radio scene and took steps to fill it.
“I’ve been in Chicago 20 years and there’s never been reggae on mainstream radio,” says Joe. “I would hear it on college stations but never outside of that. With Reggae Link Radio, we have the opportunity to be the first.”
Joe became involved with Power 92.3 when placing ads on the station. While talking to a Power 92 ad executive, he learned that the station had recently been exploring the possibility of incorporating a reggae show into its programming. He decided to make it a reality.
Joe sees Reggae Link Radio as a way to bridge the gap between hip hop and reggae. He looks forward to working with Power 92.3 to bring Caribbean programming to the forefront of Chicago radio.
